Our Wedding Day

This blog was written by our incredible wedding photographer Sally Wood. I've put her details at the bottom of this post. All her own words and such a lovely thing to look back on.

A stunning Disney themed wedding was Whitney & Luke’s dream for their big day, and on Monday 20th February 2017 that dream came true.  In true Cinderella style you will see our very own Princess marry her Prince and all the fun they had on this very special day.  Whitney, her Mum and Bridesmaids were busily running around finishing getting ready when I arrived at Pendrell Hall.  Whitney’s beautiful dress hung in the Bridal Suite and there twinkling away were ‘THE SHOES’.  Whitney had been so excited about the Cinderella slippers that flashed when her heals tapped together, finally I got to see them and they were amazing.  Whitney was going to look like a real Disney princess.  Meanwhile Luke was also getting ready with his Groomsmen in tow. They did a great job of getting him to where he needed to be in plenty of time and he was incredibly calm.  The time was flying away with us and it was the moment everyone had been so excited for….. The Wedding 🙂  It was a lovely civil ceremony with Whitney & Luke’s closest friends and family in attendance.  The vows were made, rings exchanged and the new Mr & Mrs Davies shared a cheeky little kiss before signing the registers and leading everyone back outside into the beautiful winter sunshine to begin the drinks reception.   Being February we were so lucky with the weather, even though the darkening skies threatened to break they seemed to keep at bay, just long enough for us to capture some stunning photographs.  The dramatic black clouds, however, added something magical to the images.  We had great fun with the happy couple and their bridal party around the grounds of Pendrell Hall, but as with all good parties the clock soon struck and it was time for everyone to go inside and enjoy the Wedding Breakfast.  Not before Cinderella lost her Glass slipper on the staircase though 😉  The Guests were having a great time.  Each table had a dedicated Carver for the meal, and wore Mickey Mouse Aprons and Chef Hats.  Then we had the pleasure of the speeches, each Father saying some words which had us all giggling, the Groom had his beautiful wife in tears of happiness and Jack, Bestman/Brother made a super speech which included many of our favourite Disney songs, having everyone laughing out loud.  We then went back outside for some evening photography.  The weather however had started to break but we still managed to take some great shots and had lots of fun with sparklers.  Finally it was time to kick off the dance shoes and party the night away.  Whitney being a dancer and dance instructor herself, along with her girls, treated us all and her new husband to a great routine especially for the big day.  It really had been a wonderful wedding day, so in good old Disney fashion….. remember….. When you wish upon a star your dreams really do come true ♥

Thank you Whitney & Luke for inviting us to share your very special day with you, we thoroughly enjoyed capturing every minute of it.  We wish you both a very happy and long life together.Thank you to all the Staff at Pendrell Hall for all their hard work.  It was lovely to be back with you again 🙂

Thank you so much to Sally Wood Photography who wrote us this beautiful blog!
