Luxury In Lichfield - AD
*Disclaimer - our treatments were gifted in exchange for a review on our blog. However, all opinions are our own.
As part of our wedding anniversary celebrations, Luke and I had been kindly invited to Heaven Sent, a new salon which opened in December 2019 in Lichfield. Kelly started up her business 9 years ago working out of her car boot as a mobile beauty therapist. Through her hard work and determination, she opened up her first salon in Boldmere 4 years ago and has successfully branched out to a second salon!
From the outside, the salon looks de
ceivingly small. But we couldn't get over how much space there was! Spanned over 3 stories were 6 treatment rooms, which included dedicated spray tanning, nails, and a dual treatment room for those special couple treatments. The reception and coffee bar on the ground floor instantly set the tone for what sort of experience we were in for. We were greeted by the lovely Lorna who checked us in, confirmed our appointments and handed us a consent form to fill in. We felt relaxed from the moment we walked in and were chatting and giggling just like you would with good friends. She then gave us a tour of the salon and showed us each of the treatment rooms.
The salon specialises in Dermalogica skincare, Sienna X tanning, Lycon waxing, The Gel Bottle Inc for their nail treatments and use Aromatherapy Associates for their massages. The salon also specialise in pregnancy treatments. The salon had lots of small touches, which may seem insignificant to some, but for someone who regularly enjoys going to a salon for a treatment, did not go unnoticed for me. Upon discussion with the therapists afterwards, they said that they pride themselves on those small touches so were happy that they had been spotted! Firstly, in the coffee bar, there were no trashy gossip magazines like you see in most salons - books promoting a positive mental state were proudly laid on the tables for us to enjoy. Also, in each of the treatment rooms were small trinket trays for you to put your jewellery and little bits whilst you were having your treatment. It was evident that an awful lot of thought had gone into the styling of this gorgeous salon.
After our tour of the salon, we met Kelly and Rosie, the lovely ladies who were going to be doing our treatments. The lighting and candles around the room helped set the mood, and climbing onto a heated bed was such an amazing feeling! The treatment itself lasted for 40 minutes and I can honestly say was the best massage that I've ever had. Luke said it was his too, but he's only ever been used to a sports physio massage! The treatment started with some inhalations, something I've never experienced in a treatment before. The inhalation of the oils at the start of the treatment allow the body to feel the therapeutic benefits of the destress oils used throughout the treatment. A steam towel was then placed on our backs to help warm and cleanse the skin before starting the massage. As lovely as it was to share the room with Luke and have a treatment together, I can honestly say I was that relaxed that I forgot that he was in the room! Those 40 minutes seemed like I'd been there for hours, which is definitely the sign of a good massage. I found myself walking out of the salon and down the high street much taller with better posture, and even with a spring in my step because I felt so refreshed!
Once our treatment was finished, we were asked what drink we'd like. Most salons will provide you with a glass of water, or a coffee at most. Not at Heaven Sent! We had the choice of Prosecco, beer, gin and tonic, or a signature coffee. Luke had a beer and I had what turned out to be the nicest coffee I've ever had - I think it was the vanilla syrup which did it! Having the coffee bar area to use both before and after your treatments is a really nice touch to help extend your stay in the salon. It allowed us that bit of extra time together as a couple before rushing back out to our hectic parenting lifestyles!
We'd like to say a huge thank you to Kelly and her team for inviting us to the salon. I'm definitely a convert and will be heading here for all future spa treatments. Luke also said he'd like to make it a more regular occurrence that we go and have a massage together, so watch this space, we'll definitely be back Heaven Sent!
If you'd like to book a treatment, you can see what they have to offer over on their website and keep an eye on their individual Instagram pages for Lichfield and Boldmere - here you'll find any available appointments and maybe some offers too!
We've also got a little treat for you! If you quote DDBNS when you book any treatment, you can get a free mini back, neck and shoulder massage! This offer is valid only at the Lichfield branch.
